It has been a story of success. Founded in 2001, the Symphonic Wind Band of Bavaria’s leading music association MON has grown into an exceptional ensemble, admired by both audiences and musicians alike. Markus Theinert has been the conductor and Music Director from the very beginning and has served as the driving force behind the steady and continuous development of this group. Theinert managed to not only shape the band itself, but has been a mentor to numerous conductors and band directors by holding daily conducting and theory classes at the end of those long and intensive rehearsal days. The Symphonic Wind Band of the MON is composed of selected talents from all regions within Upper and Lower Bavaria and prepares for its concert tours and CD recordings during the annual spring vacation.

Miraphone has supported this important musical and educational project since its founding in 2001 and is proud to be part of a long-term cooperation with the MON band association. On January 12th, 2013, Andreas Horber (chief executive officer of MON) and Christian Niedermaier (board of directors at Miraphone) signed a new contract to extend the current agreement through 2013 and 2014. This partnership will help to further improve the musical qualification and inspiration of many talented young players and conductors within the State of Bavaria.
